APA referred 12 accused to immediate trial regarding the incidents of squandering public funds amounting to around EGP 26 milli

Counselor/ Rashida Fathallah – President of APA – ordered to refer the following (12) accused, leaders of the General Authority for Reconstruction Projects & Agricultural Development Affairs (GARPAD) for immediate trial:
 
 
For squandering public funds amounting to around EGP 26 million.
The prosecution conducted an investigation in case No. 75/2016 by Counselor/ Omar Abu Nar - Member of the Headquarters Technical Bureau -  where the prosecution ordered to form examination committee under the supervision of the General Director of Financial Control Administration at the Ministry of Agriculture, the committee revealed that GARPAD has concluded a preliminary contract to sell a state land around 495 acre located at Beni Mazar of Minya Governorate to a certain company that illegally seized this land, Also the committee noted the following:  
The investigations also revealed that the land was being originally cultivated, but now it has been set-aside with exception of 41 acres.
Consequently, APA ordered to refer the accused to immediate trial for their negligence and failure to stand up for the State’s right related to the usage of the land subject of the encroachments.
Furthermore, APA has ordered the continuation of the cultivation process of the state land, preventing any chance for land diversion by the companies that illegally seized it.
